Presented in a vintage Art Deco design frame in mellow gold. White archival mat.
I painted this studio version from sketches I created on the streets of downtown Nashville one sunny afternoon, most around the Schermerhorn and down Third Avenue. This painting is as simple as I could make it, using only French Ultramarine and Burnt Sienna. I left the background white so as not to distract from the strength of the signature structure at 333 Commerce St. Known coloquially at the Batman Building, this 25 year old iconic building has made Nashville's skyline distinctive and known world-wide, thanks to Earl Swensson & Assoc., architects. The cost of construction was $72 million.
