"Sunday Sermon Paintings" are one of the blessings that I have found to have come from this quarantine era. "Watching" church on facebook and zoom was leaving me uninspired and easily distracted. As a child sitting in the pew I always drew on anything I could so painting while listening must be a natural extension of an old habit. Not only do I seem to find inspiration and discipline every Sunday but also creative titles for my pieces!
My Savannah marsh was again the subject of this generously sized landscape and the tiny cottage tucked away in the trees seemed to be slightly pink from the last light of the sun. "Little Pink Houses for Everyone" was just too obvious a choice for a title, don't you agree?
Both cool and warm greens work together to evoke a thriving, growing marsh with tidal pools and swaying grasses. Painted out to the edges, "Ezra" is ready to hang or be framed as a stunning focal point in your home.
Hot coffee, fresh paint and a blank canvas, and my church family in the background...sounds like a super Sunday morning to me!
Nashville-area buyers may pick up at Montgomery Bell Academy on Nov. 18th between 3:30 and 5:30. Non-local buyers will receive an email with shipping charges customized to their zip code after the show.
