And, yes, that is the official title of the sculpture. This is the Nashville skyline at dusk, as seen from the east side of the Cumberland, and featuring the amazing sculpture "Ghost Ballet" erected in 2007. Resting on an old crane that once lowered barges into the river, this sculpture was the product of a national competition won by artist, Alice Ayco, who based the design on Nashville's industrial and railroad histories.
I made several plein air watercolor sketches on site and from them, created this painting in studio. It is moody, yet still lively in presenting the beautiful Nashville skyline as clouds hover I never tire of the many ways to portray this city, which I love without hesitation.
Nashville area buyers may pick up at Montgomery Bell Academy on Nov 18 between 3:30 and 5:30 pm, no additional charge, CDC guidelines followed.
